Race Leys took a team to Ambleside Sports Club on Wednesday 18th October for the first ever, Positive Impact Football Tournament. They were in a group with St Pauls and Milby and played some good football in both games but couldn’t find the net however, brilliant goalkeeping from Ben meant we didn’t concede and we qualified for the semi-finals. Camp Hill were our semi-final opponents and we had an entertaining but tight game until we broke clear in the final minutes and Jon slotted the ball in the bottom corner to take us to the final against Milby. The final ended 0-0 so penalties were needed to decide the winner and when Andy kept his cool to bury the crucial penalty, that winner was RACE LEYS! The team showed high levels of determination and respect throughout and deserved the success.
