Target Tokyo launch day

What an amazing day we had at Race Leys on Wednesday to launch our Target Tokyo project! Unfortunately, Eden Francis was ill but instead we were visited by GB sprinter, Leon Baptiste who won Gold in the 200m and the 4x100m relay at the 2010 Commonwealth Games! Every child had great fun completing the exercise circuit with Leon and then had an inspirational assembly to learn about his training, his successes and the lessons he’d learnt on his journey. Each class also started their journey to Tokyo by visiting their first country. On this journey, they will learn about the many different cultures around the world and will be able to view their progress on a huge map in the school. Finally, an ENORMOUS THANK YOU to our school community who raised a phenomenal £1,930 which will go towards sports equipment for school and to help Eden, Leon and other British athletes to reach Tokyo 2020.
