Year 5’s Fantastic Learning!

At the moment in Year five we are working hard on our part of the Christmas production, Baboushka (no, not the song). Most children have a line or two in the play and rehearsals are going well so far, including the singing. We are also looking forward to the Christmas Fayre on Saturday December the 5th, especially the games that we are organising! Make sure you come along and enjoy the festivities from chocolate tombola to design your own candle.

This week we had the chance to watch a fantastic production of ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ once again the pantomime was full of action, excitement, singing, quick costume changes and the traditional poor jokes –  every one really enjoyed it and it gave us lots of ideas for our own acting skills.

We are also very excited to be writing a story based on the book ‘Mog’s Christmas Calamity. To start with, we were given all of the illustrations from the book and we had to sequence them into a story of our own. Then, in pairs, we had to write about each picture (telling the story basically). Although we have not heard or seen the original story yet, we will be writing up our own stories next week. Then, we will watch the advert (based on the book) and hopefully hear the story.

Only a couple of weeks to go to the Christmas break so we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (and a good break of course)!
