Year 6 National Holocaust Museum Trip

On Tuesday 24th September and amid a deluge of almost Biblical proportion, year 6 visited the National Holocaust centre near Newark. In the morning they followed the diary and journey of Leo, a ten year old Jewish German boy from Berlin, whose family was persecuted by the Nazis. Through a series of interactive rooms they saw the world through his eyes leading up to his travel to England and safety on the Kindertransport.
After lunch the children were really privileged to be able to meet and hear the story of Hedi Argent – an amazing 90 year old survivor who travelled all the way from London to share her story – who had lost everything as a child in Vienna due to the Nazi policy against Jews.
